See you in June!

Thanks for all your good wishes and wedding love. Our wedding day was indeed the best day of my life, my new husband agrees. Back to base in June and I look forward to working with you then. Love Mrs Natalie Ryan! X x x

Whatcha gonna do!

Last night my mum asked me what I was going to "do" once the wedding was over. An appropriate question given the amount of planning, designing and "doing" that's been going on. I have wondered how, after all the effort and after having all your favourite people in one place for such a short time, life will feel as a married woman.

"At home" we are heading straight into "project garden landscape". We've been in our house for 18 months and it's been a big part of finishing it. "At work" I've been juggling three businesses and another project. Then there's the new website, shows, events, projects, commissions, the launch. I'm tired already! Mostly though, I'll be teaching my cat not to fight and I'll be busy not having to constantly spell my name "Oh-apostrophie-Deee-Oh-En-Oh-veee-AAA-Enn" in simple situations, like ordering a pizza.

Five weeks to go!

Cat-tastic!

Today Nelson, the studio cat, got into another fight. His second in two weeks. Apparently he's being bullied and his injuries substained through defending his territory. Today he came through the cat flap, skidded into the studio, eyes swollen, one shut, one bloodshot. I called the lovely you-dont-have-to-look-if-you-are-squeemish-but-it's-very-interesting vet who ordered me straight down.

Nelson is a big part of my working day. Every morning he wanders around as I answer emails, he sits on the window sill when it's raining and sometimes (usually when he's bored) he sits on my keyboard which keeps me off my computer for a bit. Mostly though he sits on Jon's chair and does not get off. Nope. Never. No way.

I love our little studio cat. He's my first ever pet and the first thing I've ever had to look after. Two injections later we are back in the studio, I'm carrying on with my work and he's...well on the chair of course.

Not long now!

I’m not sure I could count the amount of weddings my mother and I have “gone to”. Not gone to as in attended, but as virtual guests imagined in our little studio as we put together invites; from Babbington house to a fish and chip shop in Bermondsey, we’ve seen it all. It’s been a delight and the intricacies of wedding-life have been interesting to observe.

My wedding is just around the corner. I understand so much more about my business through having this experience. I think it should be law that you aren’t allowed into the wedding industry unless you’ve been through the process. Joking aside, I’ve never truly considered the amount of decisions a wedding requires a couple to make; how many canapĂ©’s per head, how many floating butterflies as a backdrop...questions, questions!? The suppliers involved were put together as a dream team of people I’ve met throughout my wedding career, combined with local businesses I have met. The only low point I’ve had was an email I sent at 4pm on a Friday afternoon to a supplier and then sent another one on the Sunday as I hadn’t heard back. I caught myself in almost-bridezilla mode and took a step back; it was the weekend after all.

Then, there have been some absolute delights; my wedding planner has been amazing, our reception venue manager is superb and my favourite photographer in the whole world has come out of retirement to shoot our wedding. Those are the personal elements, from a business perspective there have been certain “findings” that will shape us in the future.

In terms of the future, there are some exciting changes happening; new products..Yippee! Here’s a peek at our new “heirloom” range of bouquets coming in July. Talking of July, our new website goes live.

Before then, I’ve got a wedding to attend! Two by Two Weddings will be closed from 11th May 2012 until 11th June 2012. However, I’m fully booked until 11th May, the next studio space is week commencing 11th June, so please do book early.

Keeping busy...

Just a quickie!
I'm almost fully booked up until May 11th. Then I'm off on honeymoon for a month.
If you would like us to work on your order before May please call us ahead
of sending in your order, just to check on availability.
I am booking in commissions for delivery July onwards.

Thank you so much everybody for keeping us busy.
Here's the view from the studio, before the sun started shining, can you see the rainbow?
It's very faint, but it's definitely there!
